Tecumseh was an American Indian Chief of the Shawnee Tribe. He connects to Jefferson's presidency because he challenged white settlement during his time period. Tecumseh was also in the War of 1812. He joined forces with the British hoping to gain his land back.

A sand castle represents Tecumseh because Tecumseh was very brave to stand against the large "tide" of white settlement just as a sand castle would stand against a wave of water which could easily destroy the sand castle.
