Nationalism
Nationalism- pride in one’s country (page 327)

Nationalism connects to Jefferson’s presidency because there was flourishing nationalism while he was in office and a questioning of nationalism when James Madison replaced him. Jefferson showed nationalism by making the Louisiana Purchase because he showed that he really wanted to help America.

The reason that this picture represents nationalism is because the Olympics, in my opinion, has more pride in your own country than any other place. Although there is an argument that the Olympics is about unity but your country is trying to beat others and you are hopeful and proud of yours.

A song that represents nationalism is “Star Spangled Banner” because it is our national anthem and national anthems are representing their country and you have nationalism when you sing them.
